Help students fill out a bracket

A bracket is each student’s prediction. The class votes later to decide which songs actually advance, so students keep voting even when their predictions were different.

Make your predictions

  1. Open the current bracket and playlist from the website or your dashboard. When available, download the blank bracket for the current contest. Check the bracket deadline shown on your dashboard or current contest page.
  2. Listen to all sixteen songs before making picks. Preview the resources yourself before using them in class.
  3. Give each student a copy. Have them add their name and class, then choose a winner for each first-round pairing.
  4. Follow the printed lines to move those predicted winners into the quarterfinals, semifinals and final. Choose a champion. Use the current bracket’s layout rather than copying an older sheet.
  5. Collect or save a copy of every completed bracket before the first vote opens.

Follow the results

Keep the original predictions and track actual winners separately as results are released. Use the scoring instructions supplied with the current bracket, or agree on your classroom scoring before starting. A classroom prediction does not submit official votes; enter those on your dashboard.
